About ME

Hello, I'm Shelly

I’m not a care agency — I’m simply someone with a deep love for the elderly and a passion for their wellbeing. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working closely with older adults, learning just how much joy, connection, and gentle support can mean in the later years of life.

I completed my Honours Degree in Psychology through UNISA, where my thesis explored enhancing the quality of life in the aging process. Today, I’m a registered Specialist Wellness Counsellor with ASCHP, focusing on elder mental wellness — offering a listening ear, guidance, and heartfelt companionship.

I have extensive experience managing physical care needs and can provide advice, guidance, and coordination in arranging home-based care or assisting families through transitions into care facilities — knowing how stressful change can be in later years.

Alongside emotional support, I offer movement and exercise sessions, often followed by a cup of tea and a chat — because I believe friendships, laughter, and belonging are just as important as physical health.  All my services are personal. I’m the one who walks the journey with you or your loved one, ensuring continuity, understanding, and trust.  Shelly’s Elder Wellness is flexible and shaped around each person’s unique needs. Whether it’s advice, emotional support, coordination, or simply bringing more meaning into everyday moments — whatever your needs, I’ll always help with genuine care and compassion from the heart.
